Dallas Mavericks Trade

Mavs Make Deadline Deals for Frontcourt and Wing Depth

Two Trades Bring Spencer Dinwiddie and McBuckets to Dallas

Mavericks Send Porzingis to Wizards for Dinwiddie

The Dallas Mavericks have added depth to their frontcourt and wing with two separate deals before the NBA trade deadline. In the first trade, the Mavs sent Kristaps Porzingis and a second-round pick to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie is a 28-year-old guard who is averaging 12.6 points and 5.8 assists per game this season. He is a good shooter and playmaker who can help take some of the pressure off of Luka Dončić.

Mavs Acquire McBuckets from Hornets

In the second trade, the Mavericks acquired power forward Jalen McDaniels from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and a 2027 second-round pick. McDaniels is a 25-year-old forward who is averaging 10.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season. He is a good defender and rebounder who can help the Mavs improve their frontcourt depth.

Mavs Trade No. 26 Pick and Boban

In addition to these two trades, the Mavericks also agreed to trade the No. 26 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and Boban Marjanović to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Christian Wood. Wood is a 26-year-old center who is averaging 17.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game this season. He is a good scorer and rebounder who can help the Mavs improve their frontcourt depth.

Mavs Positioned for Playoff Success

These trades give the Mavericks a much-needed boost in depth and talent. They now have a solid starting lineup and a good bench. They are also well-positioned to make a run in the playoffs.
